Wrens are quite the talkers, especially the boys (go figure). During breeding season a male wren will sing 9-11 times per minute in order to be noticed by a female. Kind of an upgrade from the standard "do you come here often?" line". This chatty House Wren is singing not for a mate but for his dinner in the hopes of drawing them nearer to him. I do think their long and lyrical songs are worthy of an audience and a flashy microphone from which to perch.
